FAQs
Do I need prior golf experience to join the tour?
No prior golf experience is required. We welcome players of all skill levels, from complete beginners to seasoned golfers. In fact, some of our participants in the first season had never played golf before and had a great time developing their game. Check out our Handicap Range over on The Players page.
What does the membership fee cover?
The membership fee covers the operational costs of running the tour, ensuring all events are well-organised and run smoothly. It also grants access to all tour events and includes LFG goodies, such as a sleeve of LFG branded golf balls and an LFG lanyard.
How do I register for each event?
Once you’re a member, you can register for events by heading directly to the event page in the 2025 Events Schedule section. We send out event dates, details, and the booking link in advance, making it easy for you to secure your spot for each event.
Can I participate in just one event, or do I need to commit to the whole season?
You’re welcome to participate in as many or as few events as you like. While we encourage members to play in all events to compete for the overall tour leaderboard, you are not required to commit to the entire season.
How are players grouped during events?
We aim to group players based on skill level, experience, and personal preferences to create a friendly and enjoyable environment for all participants. However, we also mix groups to encourage new connections among members and enhance the tour experience.
Are there prizes or awards for performance on the tour?
Yes, we award a trophy to the winner of each event, along with prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive. The overall tour champion receives exclusive winner’s merchandise and the prestigious LFG winners’ shield, recognising their outstanding performance throughout the season.
How does the scoring work?
Head over to our dedicated Scoring page for full details of the scoring methodology and the scoring app we use at each event. The overall leaderboard is made up of points earned across the three individual events, allowing players to compete for the top spot throughout the season.
What is included in the ‘Ryder Cup’ event?
The ‘Ryder Cup’ event includes two rounds of golf, one night’s accommodation, breakfast, and a three-course meal. Players are divided into two teams, Black and Gold, to compete in a friendly yet competitive team format. It’s an excellent opportunity to enjoy great golf, some spirited team rivalry, and socialising with fellow participants.
How do I stay connected with the LFG community outside of events?
LFG Tour members stay connected through our dedicated WhatsApp community, where we create event-specific groups, share updates, engage in generic chat, and host a marketplace for members to buy & sell gear. It’s a great way to meet other members, ask questions, and stay informed about all things LFG in real time. Make sure to also follow us on Instagram.
Can I get a refund if I am unable to attend an event?
We understand that plans change. Because we pay up front for all events, refunds are only available for cancellations made at least six weeks prior to the event date. For cancellations within six weeks of the event, our team is always happy to discuss possible options if unforeseen circumstances arise.
